
Mike Manson,
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Mike Manson is CEO and co-founder of TaraSpan. He has helped launch numerous startups and together with Raj Narula has secured over $40 million in funding for technology startups. Mike is formerly Senior Vice President and General Manager at Alcatel, where he led a global business unit with software development centers in Canada, California, Belgium, Spain and India. Prior to Alcatel, he held executive positions at Newbridge Networks in roles spanning product line management, business development and strategic alliances. Mike is a frequently invited speaker on doing business in India, software business strategies and venture capital fundraising. Mike serves on the board of directors of TaraSpan Inc. in Canada, and TaraSpan Solutions Pvt Ltd in India. In 2012 Mike was appointed to the Canada-India ICT Working Group by the Government of Canada, and to the Dean’s Advisory Council of the Laurier School of Business and Economics at Wilfred Laurier University. Currently Mike divides his time between Ottawa Canada and Gurgaon India.

Raj Narula,
President and Co-Founder

Raj Narula is President and co-founder of TaraSpan. Raj is formerly CEO and co-founder of TenXc Wireless, a company developing intelligent antenna systems for the GSM market. As CEO and VP of business development he launched the company and was instrumental in raising over $20M in venture capital. He also secured Alpha trials with Tier 1 carriers in Canada and the US. Prior to TenXc, Raj was an active angel investor with investments in eLearning, Web Portals , security and IT companies and a serial entrepreneur. He started his first successful business at age 20. He has helped launch numerous startups and together with Mike Manson has secured over $40 million in early and mid stage funding for his clients. Additionally he transacted an M&A of an Ottawa software company by a publicly-traded Indian software company. Raj divides his time between North America and India.
Raj is also the co-founder and Charter Member of the Ottawa chapter of TiE (the Indus Entrepreneur), a global organization focused on the fostering of entrepreneurship through mentoring, networking and education. He has served on the board of many charitable organizations and enterprises over the past 20 years. He currently serves on the board of TaraSpan Inc.
Raj holds a B.Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, Canada and a Mechanical Systems Diploma from Algonquin College.

Nihar Ranjan Sahoo,

Nihar is CFO of TaraSpan Solutions Pvt. Ltd. He joined the company in July 2008 as its AVP-Finance and then promoted to CFO in May 2009, bringing more than 12 years of financial management experience at high technology companies in the field of Information Technology and Telecom. Nihar is responsible for leading TaraSpan’s Accounting, Taxation, Financial Planning, Budgeting, Funds Management and Corporate Compliances. A member of the senior management team, Nihar is responsible for strategic financing and strategic planning, investor relations and Board of Director relations. Nihar holds a Masters Degree in Commerce from Utkal University, Orissa.

Suhas Pathak,
Vice-President, Technology Division

Suhas is Vice President of Technology Division. With over two decades of experience in IT industry, Suhas brings with him the sector knowledge and expertise to head the TaraSpan Solutions Technology Division in Pune. In 1996, Suhas founded Telesoft, a software outsourcing firm offering software consulting services to US companies. He successfully managed the delivery of over 40 small and large projects to US clients. TaraSpan acquired Telesoft in 2008.
Before founding Telesoft, Suhas worked in several Silicon Valley companies such as IBM (Rolm), Centigram, Intel and Metra Instruments. He holds a MS – Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai.

Jaswinder Kaur,
Vice-President, Cleantech

Jaswinder is Vice-President, Cleantech of Taraspan. She brings over 15 years of professional experience in climate change, IT communications, new venture development and fund management. Most recently Jaswinder was the Managing Director (India) of Cleantech Group, a leading provider of clean technology market intelligence and advisory services. Based in Delhi (India), Jaswinder was responsible for driving growth in the region and worked with global corporations, investors and government agencies to research cleantech companies, evaluate investment opportunities, and assess the development of cleantech markets.
From 2006-2008, Jaswinder served as Executive Director of the Indian Venture Capital Association (IVCA) which is headquartered in Delhi. Before IVCA, Jaswinder was a co-Founding Partner at Venture Coaches, a seed and early stage venture capital fund, based in Ottawa, focused on investments in the wireless and IT sector. This followed several years building a marketing and operations background working at leading telecommunications companies such as Nortel Networks, Cambrian Systems and CrossKeys Systems.
Jaswinder has also served as an advisor to several institutions such as IFC, UNIDO, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), UK Department for International Development (DfiD) and has been a speaker at numerous cleantech events. She is a recipient of the Top 40 Under 40 awarded by the Ottawa Business Journal.
Jaswinder obtained a B.A. Honours from Carleton University and an MBA from the University of Ottawa.

Navin Singh,

Navin is Vice President, Human Resources & Administration. His areas of responsibility include recruitment and staffing, benefits, compensation, learning and development, employee relations and leadership development, as well as administrative duties for the company. Navin comes to to TaraSpan with over twenty years of experience with a specialized focus on human resources and personnel development associated with leading companies in the IT & ITeS sector. He has worked throughout India, including Delhi/National Capital Region, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Coimbatore with teams from diverse educational and socio-cultural backgrounds, along with several international assignments. Navin’s areas of expertise include the recruitment and management of HR teams for technology companies that are engaged in Software Development (Products & ISV’s), Systems Integrators, and KPOs (Finance, Healthcare & Human Resources) .
Navin has a Bachelors Degree in Science and Masters in Business Administration with specialization in Personnel Management.

Parminder Singh,

Parminder is Vice President of Sales for TaraSpan’s Mitel Division. He has over 25 years of industrial experience spanning multiple industry segments. Over the past decade, Parminder has been closely associated with the Indian Telecom Industry gaining in-depth knowledge of wireline as well as wireless technologies.
Prior to joining TaraSpan Solutions, Parminder founded and headed the telecom SBU of Raychem RPG, a Tyco joint venture in India, and held the position of Country Manager for Redline Communications and Wavesat Inc. He is an active member of the WiMAX forum India Chapter as well as the FTTH Council.

Vishal Srivastava,
India Head of Sales, Sandvine

Vishal is India Head of Sales for
Sandvine. Vishal has been in the telecommunications and related applications & services business for more than 20 years. At TaraSpan Solutions, Vishal is spearheading the sales and business development for Sandvine’s DPI technology based network policy control and enforcement solutions with India’s large telecom operators. These solutions are used for new services creation, traffic optimization, network analytics and streamlining the capex and opex deferral aspects of ISP and Telcos.
Prior to joining TaraSpan, Vishal has lead many strategic and innovative product and solution sales assignments in WiMax and LTE infrastructure sales, OSS BSS solutions and enterprise equipments with leading companies such as Motorola, INTEC, HCL, Siemens and Uptron. With extensive experience in vendor specific assignments, Vishal has also successfully managed high value enterprise customers for Bharti Airtel in the Western India markets.
Vishal is a graduate of Computer Science and Engineering from Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur, India.
